I ran the piston from Inagawa dam to meet up with some friends who were doing the thru hike from ÌÚÁ¾¶ð¥ö³Ù. They were super fast, but one of them tripped on the way down and completely split open the skin on his forehead to the bone. He had an avulsion of about 8cm² - huge risk for infection. I didn't have enough water to irrigate the wound, and though we were very close to the ¿å¾ì, he didn't want to wash the wound with that water, so I had no choice but to help him down. Once we got signal, we called for a rescue team and met them back at the forest road. Miraculously, he did not have concussion symptoms.
I'm extremely thankful for my WFR training, which helped me stay calm and know exactly what to do in this situation.
