One of our teammates spotted a papa bear, mama bear, and a cub drinking from this small pool/pond near 4.5K and got really scared. He turned around and ran as fast as he could back to 4.0K, where he met up with the others. After that, he continued on with the group. I only learned about his encounter when we were on the return route from 6.0K. Most of us hoped he had taken a quick snapshot of the bear family before he ran away.
