This is a tough route and we had to get on the train at 6am to get to Kokawa Station by 8am. It's a long day. If the weather wasn't so bad we would have made better time but still it is pretty tight getting to 施福寺 by 5pm and getting to the bus on time. According to one of the books I have the official route takes a different road leaving 粉河寺. That makes sense and I might try walking that again sometime as the route we took was a bit tight at time with a lot of cars speeding by us.

Either way a lot of fun.

I dropped my umbrella along my way and went back to pick it up and thank the temple monks for telling us about the route down the hill behind the toilet building.
